i am kinda obsessed with these right now... the hubs and i are shopping around for a new headboard for our cal-king mattress and i keep getting drawn to tufted headboards... in a cream or dark brown color or maybe even in a grey... i think i prefer them over the traditional wood headboards which is what the hubs wants...

this one (below) is a good mix of wood and the tufted style that i like.. we actually saw something like this at i.o. metro and we both liked it a lot... it's a good compromise for us...

both the hubs and i read in bed so having a nice soft headboard to lean on would be great...

i found this one (below) at apartment theorapy... it's a homemade version of the headboard... you can find the how-to tutorial here... it seems easy enough to do but i'm probably just going to purchase one at a store...

i'll keep you posted on what new headboard we decide to get... but for now, tufted headboards are what i am currently obsessing about...

i recently tried out this product.. and i'm not really sold on it.... a friend of mine recommended it... and she swears by the stuff so i thought i'd give it a try too... well, it really cleans your face.. i'll give it that... but it dries it out too...my skin got flaky... it's almost feels too clean.. it leaves your face "squeaky clean"... not a smooth luxurious feeling... and it didn't stop me from breaking out either... i got a few which sucked... out of 5 stars... i'll give it a 2.

i was at new york & company today and i bought me a this sweater... i got it in this dark purple color and i love it... (i think this purple looks awesome on brunettes).. there are chiffon flowers along the front which give it a girly feel... and i like that the sleeves only go to the elbow... this would be a great piece to wear to work.

i just realized that i never wrote my review on these 2 books... i finished them awhile ago but haven't shared my thoughts on them...

ok... so i am a twilight fan (really i am) butttttt... i can't get over how this saga ends... warning: spoiler alert!... bella gets pregnant and has a kid?! seriously?? i think that's kinda lame... first off, can vampires even impregnate humans? they don't have the "stuff" in them to create another living thing... and another thing i don't like is that jacob imprints on bella's kid?? yeah, also kinda lame...

anywho... am i still going to see the last 2 movie installments... yes, of course i am!... but i just thought that the direction the story went was kinda dumb...i expected something better i guess... sorry to all you die-hard twilight fans... but just my 2 cents.

i'd like to take a moment to share a few super simple (and i do mean simple...) green tips that anyone can do... no excuses!... start today... we all need to all do our part...

change to fluorescent bulbs - if every house in the united states changed all of the light bulbs in their house, that would be equivalent to taking one million cars off the streets.

use both sides of the paper - if you have a printer with a double sided print option use it... you will save half of the amount of paper you would have normally used.

don't get bottled water - instead of bottled water get a reusable container to carry water... also you can get a filter to make your home tap taste more like bottled water... it is definitely more cost efficient.

get rid of junk mail - there are many services that can help you get rid of junk mail...that will lead to a lot less trees being cut down to take up room in your mailbox.

pay your bills online - if every house in the us did this then we would save 18 million trees every year.

get a reusable bag - you can't recycle plastic bags, instead get yourself a reusable bag so that you won't have to worry about carrying your necessities.

walk or ride your bike when you can - if you have to go somewhere close consider riding your bike or walking there instead of your car...it's better on the environment and healthier.

it's been a whirlwind the last week or so... the hubs and i moved from orange county, ca to kansas city, mo... it all happened so fast.. one minute a company in overland park, ks is calling my husband looking to hire him then the next minute, i am quitting my job... packing up our things and hitting the road... i think this all happened within 2-3 weeks... which, to me, is super fast!!

we're staying with my in-laws (the hubs is from the kansas city area so his entire family is here which is nice) until we can find a house of our own... we're working with a few local realtors right now so hopefully, we'll find something soon!... wish us luck! i'll keep you posted...

i've had navy nail polish on all week long... and let me tell you, it's been so fun!.. such a bold color yet not over the top when nails are kept short (short... that's important!)... i will also tell you this... i had a few work meetings with clients this past week and i was concerned that the navy nail polish would seem unprofessional or immature... but it actually wasn't bad at all... they didn't seem to mind.. i didn't get any weird looks or anything... so yeah, go ahead put on navy nail polish.. wear it to work or out on the town... its all good!

weekends go by so fast... really.. 2 days is just not enough... i didn't even really do anything this weekend... it was a pretty mellow one for me but it still felt like it went by too fast...

on friday night, i went to dinner at the cheesecake factory at the irvine spectrum with my good friend, eugenia (yes, she's greek!)... it was nice to see her... we don't meet up often enough.. especially not over dinner... we usually just grab a quick lunch...friday and saturday nights are usually reserved for the hubs... ya know how that is...

speaking of the hubs, on saturday... i cleaned up the house in the morning before i picked him up at john wayne airport... he went out to kansas city, mo for a job interview (which he got!... more on that later).. then we spent a chill evening at home... we watched red... it's that movie with bruce willis as a retired cia agent.. it was a pretty good movie.. not as bad as i thought it was going to be...

on sunday... the hubs and i got breakfast at cinnamon production in ladera ranch...they have amazing pastries there... we then just spent the whole day running errands around town... nothing exciting... oh, i did purchase this cool wonder woman eye shadow set from m.a.c... i don't actually need it but i couldn't help it... i'm kind of a sucka with anything wonder woman

as mellow as my weekend was... it still went by too fast.. i am already thinking about the upcoming weekend (again, no major plans.. just thinking about the time off)... how about you? do you feel like your weekends go too fast?? it can't just be me!

in 2011... i will cook more (healthy!) meals at home...

i'll be the first to admit that i eat out too often... i am so lazy about going to the grocery store and cooking meals at home... it's at a point where the local pick up stix not only knows my name and my order... but recognizes my number on their caller id... that's pretty bad!!... not to mention that my waistline has expanded quite a bit in the last few years...(but we won't go there!)...

anywho, this year... i will make an effort to go to the grocery store on the weekends to plan my meals for the week... i will visit local farmers markets and buy more organic ingredients... my goal to be to healthier (and may be a few pounds lighter!) in 2011... i'm not going on a hardcore diet per se... but just making a lifestyle change with my eating habits... wish me luck!!
